Go ahead, bite that hand! Look in that mouth! Small things are cause enough for me to draw back into my skin, my mantle, my psychic cloak. As much as I want to connect with new folks, extend the welcoming handshake of my experience, knowledge and empathy; more often than not I draw back a mangled stub of good will. What is it that compels us to lash out - the transference of guilt, of shame, of embarrassment, of our own pain - to minimize those who show the most compassion, who empathize with no reserve?
Perhaps I am too thin-skinned, too sensitive, too impetuous.
But, I like who I am. Someone, someday will like this me too.

I like you...even though you still haven't responded to my email.
see there's that conditional thing... "i like you" buuuuuuuuttttttttt now I'm going to caveat it 'cause you haven't done what I want. wouldn't it be nice for this "anonymous" to just say "i like you"? by taking the tack he has, my ire is up and i am less willing to be understanding. no doubt, he thinks it is an harmless jibe at my inconsistency of e-mailing, and i really shouldn't take it personally, but i'm just trying to point out that even the most innocuous comments reveal a deeper disdain.
why do assume "anonymous" is a "he"? anonymous risks tempting the wrath of a superior intellect, but is intrigued by the possibilities.
no wrath here - i love this stuff. refer to the following on the traditional usage of pronouns in reference to unknown gender...
"Many traditional grammar books and teachers still insist on using "he" or "he or she" when the referent has an unknown gender. Although the arguments that they present are usually phrased in terms of a type of grammatical "logic," the real reason is social. The use of "he or she" marks the writer as someone who has had a formal education."
now, for the fun stuff. if "anonymous" would like to be referenced with the gender correct pronoun then "he" must have the "gamete-producing organs" to not only state "his" gender but perhaps to reveal identity. now the superior intellect (harhar) is piqued!
there's no question in anonymous' mind that sea is well educated and has command of the english vernacular. sea strikes me as an attractive young lady who has experienced much through the years and anonymous is surprisingly at a loss for words. anonymous needs a cup of tea in order to get the creative juices flowing. in the meantime, anonymous wonders what else piques sea's interests?
how i long for a cup of tea (sigh)or a grapefruit, alas! i am tea-less (and grapefruit-less) on this sleety day. most certainly what rouses sea's curiosity is anonymous' tentative commentual flirtation and "his" disinclination to revelation, perhaps revelatory in and of itself.
"commentual flirtation"? are you a) biting your lower lip
b) playing with your hair
c) circling the rim of a glass with your finger
d) grinning while reading this
if yes to any of the above, then yes, this is anonymous' feeble attempt at flirtation.
anonymous' picks for the best tea are london (harrod's), paris (anywhere along champ-elysees), zurich (hotel baur-au lac), sydney (waterfront by the opera house) and hong kong (intercontinental hotel). closer to home, tea on any celebrity cruise will do. while we're at it, why settle for grapefruit when you can have fresh strawberry papayas and mangoes in hawaii?
diction, diction... not necessarily "feeble", perhaps clichéd or trite. and then you lost me with the papayas and mango - it's the texture that turns me off - and i've never been on a cruise, however i have often been cruised.
perhaps i went a bit overboard with that last post...my apologies. anonymous is easily starstruck. anonymous wonders what sea has plans for over the holidays? the french quarter has reopened and could certianly use the revenue.
no doubt the "poo quarter" is need of revenue in addition to much more, but sea will be contemplating important matters such as navel lint and things that go "doink" over these cheerful holidays.
btw... cave creek, hmmmm????
careful...that "bah humbug" is audible over "boogie wonderland" playing in the background.
as for cave creek, there are a few good restuarants in the area, but i prefer scottsdale or tempe. whatcha in the mood for? indian, japanese, mexican?
is it ambitious of anonymous to predict sea and the author will chat, live, on a phone, in the not-too-distant future or will this be the defacto mode of communication until sea gets bored with me?
no thank you on the curry, please to not be feeding me with the curry - although there is nothing wrong with a good salt lassi (minus the egg powder - ick!)
if anonymous is clever, "he" will find that there are other forms of access to be discovered on this bloggy blog before jumping so hastily to the head cancer. not to mention that the single girl rarely answers to an unkown number.
what little amusement anonymous derived from this playful banter is now overshadowed by sea's insistance that "he" "work" for the pleasure of speaking with her. anonymous finds this tact quite discouraging given the circumstances, but hey, what's another 20 years? anonymous hopes sea has a great weekend, in addition to a safe and festive holiday.
oh man, where are my manners... i'll just roll over, give you what you want and top it off with a foot washing. but thanks for stopping by.
I am not going to reveal my gender as it is not important. This is a different anonymous who would love to kiss that beautiful face.
